Local MP Alan Mak has shown his continued support for the parkrun movement.
He recently joined parkrun Global CEO Elizabeth Duggan to volunteer at Havant parkrun in Staunton Country Park, where they were given the job of handing out finish tokens to more than 300 runners and walkers.
The day was also a special celebration of the vital role volunteers have played in the popular weekly event since it began in 2012.
Before the start Mr Mak gave a short speech and thanked all the volunteers who give up their time each Saturday morning to enable the parkrun to take place.
After the last person crossed the finish line, a community picnic was held to recognise the contribution of more than 1,300 people who have volunteered at Havant parkrun.
Parkrun was created in the UK in 2004 and to start with times were written down on paper and washers were used as finish tokens.
But now there is electronic registration and a barcode result system for hundreds of thousands of runners each week.
The free, volunteer-led 5k and 2k community events take place in open spaces around the world.
Organisers say being part of parkrun, whether as an entrant or volunteer helper, provides a range of physical, social and mental health benefits.
Mr Mak said: "I've always been a big supporter of parkrun and have even taken part in the Havant event in the past.
"It was great to be able to be part of this special celebration of the volunteers who make it all possible and thank them for what they do.
"Parkrun is a fantastic movement that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get out in the fresh air and enjoy being part of what is a lovely social occasion each weekend."
