Local MP Alan Mak has visited Damira Dental Practice and welcomed the company's increase in NHS dental provision for the Havant area, as part of his ongoing campaign for more dentistry locally.
Since the beginning of 2024, the practice at Havant Health Centre has taken on 4,000 new NHS patients.
It still has a waiting list but is now at capacity in its current premises, so needs to find a new home to enable it to keep on expanding.
Mr Mak met Dr Anushika Brogan, CEO and founder of Damira Dental Studios, and Business Operations Director Tom Simons.
He also met James Roach, Director of Neighbourhood Health for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, who is responsible for commissioning NHS dentistry in the Havant area.
Damira Dental Studios is a leading dental group with more than 50 practices across England.
The Havant practice has three dentists, two dental hygienists, one patient care co-ordinator and five nurses.
It focuses on NHS work and has extended its opening hours to enable more patients to be treated.
Mr Mak said: "I've been campaigning for more dentistry capacity for our area for many years.
"Damira Dental Practice is doing a great job providing NHS dental care to the people in Havant. Access to dentistry is very important and I'm pleased that it has greatly increased the number of NHS patients that it sees.
"Now it needs to find larger premises to take on even more patients and I will certainly do all I can to help."
