Local MP Alan Mak has visited medical equipment supplier OSKA in Havant to open its upgraded Innovation Centre and Training Academy.
He was greeted by managing director Alistair Wickland and had a tour of the company's head office in Penner Road before cutting the ribbon.
OSKA specialises in mattresses designed to help prevent, manage and treat pressure ulcers. It was founded as a result of Brand Ambassador Ben Woodcock's personal quest to develop a pressure care solution for his two-year-old daughter more than 23 years ago.
OSKA products are used in hospitals, hospices and other long-term care settings by both the NHS and private sector.
Its Innovation Centre features an extensive research and development programme, working with some of the UK's leading Tissue Viability Nurse Specialists and eminent complex wound clinicians.
Meanwhile the company's Training Academy aims to promote clinical excellence across all areas of pressure ulcer prevention and management.
An experienced team of clinically-qualified experts provide health and social care professionals with the support and skills they need to deliver high quality pressure area care for patients and residents.
Mr Mak said: "I am a big supporter of local businesses and I was honoured to open OSKA's upgraded Innovation Centre and Training Academy.
"I am very proud that a Havant-based company is a leader in its field, employing local people in the design and manufacture of world-class pressure care solutions driven by cutting edge technology and innovation."
