Local MP Alan Mak has visited Purbrook Park School in Widley to talk to pupils.
He went to the school during National Careers Week and spoke to them about his own career path and the role of an MP.
Mr Mak also did a Q&A session with the Year 7 pupils.
National Careers Week is an annual celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK.
The aim is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar, helping young people to develop awareness and excitement about their future pathways.
Mr Mak said: "I really enjoyed meeting the pupils at Purbrook Park School during National Careers Week and talking to them about how I became an MP and what the role is like.
"I wish them all the best as they go on to consider their own futures and what career avenues they would like to go down."
