Local MP Alan Mak has visited Le Petit Pain in Emsworth ahead of Small Business Saturday and urged people to support independent traders.
He called in to see owner Russ Bond to show his support and back the annual campaign that encourages people to use small businesses in their communities all year round.
Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on shopping habits. The theme this year is 'celebrating the nation’s favourite businesses'.
Le Petit Pain has been a part of the Emsworth lunchtime landscape for around 30 years. It was originally a bakery before becoming a sandwich bar.
Russ's father Malcolm took over the business in 2015 and today it offers a range of made-to-order filled baguettes, rolls and sandwiches.
Le Petit Pain has a wide variety of hot freshly-cooked options for breakfast or brunch, plus traditional cold lunchtime fillings and a selection of pies, pasties and sausage rolls.
Russ is also running a special pre-Christmas offer - simply quote 'Alan Mak 10' when ordering and you'll get 10% off your baguette or sandwich.
He said: "We make all our food to order, fresh every day. We pride ourselves on offering a personal service - we'll make it just how you like."
Mr Mak said: "I really enjoyed seeing Russ. I'm a regular customer myself and it was good to find out more about Le Petit Pain.
"Small, independent traders are the lifeblood of our shopping centres and local economy, which is why it's so disappointing that the Labour Government's tax and spend Autumn Budget will make life more difficult for them.
"I encourage residents across the Havant Constituency to support them by shopping local, not just on Small Business Saturday but all year round."
