Local MP Alan Mak has attended the rededication of a statue of former American President Ronald Reagan.
The ceremony took place in central London outside the former US Embassy and distinguished guests included the US Ambassador to the UK.
Mr Mak said: "I was honoured to attend the rededication. Supporting the UK/US relationship is one of my key national priorities and it is important to the Havant Constituency because US-based companies, especially in the defence sector, have a presence here and employ local people.
"As a nation, our defence cooperation with the US is very important."
He added: "Although I never met Ronald Reagan, he is an inspiration for many Members of Parliament. The iconic opening line of President Reagan's 1984 re-election campaign was 'It's morning again in America' and I think it is a very positive and optimistic approach that we can emulate in politics in this country."
