Local MP Alan Mak calls for inspirational women nominations on International Women’s Day

Local MP Alan Mak is calling for nominations to find his constituency’s most inspirational women and to thank them for everything they do.

Inspirational women across the Havant Constituency are to be recognised to help celebrate International Women’s Day.

And whether they are inspiring children, adults or the wider community, Mr Mak says we need to appreciate all the mothers, daughters, sisters and friends in our lives.

Mr Mak cited Dee Tupper from Leigh Park who organises the annual Friends of the Hermitage Stream Fun Day for her community.

Mr Mak attends every year and is always delighted to meet Dee and her team of volunteers to show his support for this popular community event. Last year. Mr Mak has joined by Leigh Park councillors Pam Crellin and Yvonne Weeks. He also praised them for their public service.

“Women such as Dee, Pam and Yvonne and many others across the Havant Constituency are inspiring others every single day,” he said.

“That could be through their jobs, volunteering, charity work or just by the way their live their lives and I think it’s time they were recognised more for the things they do. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is all about inspiring inclusion and I want to hear about women here who are doing just that.”

“I want people to nominate women who are inspiring others so we can help give them the recognition they deserve as a token of our appreciation for what they are doing.

To nominate an inspirational woman please visit AlanMak.org.uk/Contact and say why they are making a positive difference to those people around them.
