Local MP Alan Mak has welcomed the news that the Spring Arts & Heritage Centre in Havant is to receive £366,000 in the latest round of Government funding.
The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre is a shared space for local residents where activities such as workshops, movies, musical performances and plays are organised and run for the community.
The £336,000 is part of an additional £446 million of funding by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. 990 organisations across the United Kingdom are receiving funds.
The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre had previously received Government funding as part of the Culture Recovery Fund which was started during the COVID pandemic. After Mr Mak campaigned for the Centre to be supported they received over £100,000 over multiple funding rounds.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I am delighted that the Spring Arts Centre has once again been recognised by the Government is receiving new funding which will enable them to continue their excellent local community work.”
