Local MP Alan Mak has joined Emsworth residents at local events in Emsworth to mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.
The Havant Constituency MP first attended a service at 11am on Armistice Day at Emsworth Memorial Garden led by the Rev. Andrew Sheard. Joined by local dignitaries and local schoolchildren, he laid a wreath in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
On Remembrance Sunday, Mr Mak returned to Emsworth for a service at St James’ Church, where he laid a wreath and gave a reading.
Our local MP has also been busy selling poppies alongside Royal British Legion volunteers in the constituency. He also laid a wreath at Havant’s main Remembrance Sunday service at the war memorial by St. Faith’s Church.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “Every year at Remembrancetide, I take part in events in Emsworth to honour the service and sacrifice of all those have served and continue to serve our country. Thank you to Rev. Andrew Sheard and local residents for their strong support for the Poppy Appeal and their participation in events on Armistice Day, Remembrance Sunday and throughout Remembrancetide in and around Emsworth.”
