Local MP Alan Mak has visited the Hayling Island Bookshop to purchase a copy of Pietro Rocchiccioli’s new photo-book, Coronavirus 2020: The First Lockdown. My Experience!
Pietro compiled the book during the COVID lockdown in 2020, capturing daily life on Hayling Island at the time of unprecedented restrictions. He graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a BA Hons in photography, and is a member of the Royal Photographic Society.
The book has been selling well on the island, having already been promoted in the Hayling Herald.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “Pietro’s book is a fantastic piece of work that documents a unique period in our community’s history. It is a nice pictorial record of what we have all been through in the last 2 years. I would encourage local residents who are interested to visit the Hayling Island bookshop and pick up a copy!”
Pietro said that the local community had been very supportive of his work. “For me, things like this are positive, and if you look around the island there is a lot of positivity about.”
