Local MP Alan Mak has hosted his sixth annual Jobs, Careers and Apprenticeships Fair at the Havant Leisure Centre.
Mr Mak’s Fair was well attended and included over 30 exhibitors from across the local area, including the Army, Fat Face, Hendy Ford and McDonalds.
Mr Mak said local businesses and exhibitors told him that as the pandemic winds down, there is a desire to find fresh new talent in the Havant Constituency with new vacancies arising.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I was delighted to host my 6th annual Jobs, Careers and Apprenticeships Fair. Fortunately unemployment in our area is low, but this event provides local people looking for new work or a career switch a fantastic opportunity to find out about the jobs on offer in our local area. Local employers told me they are keen to recruit local talent as the economy recovers after the pandemic.”
Suzanne Mowatt from ComServ said: “Thank you to Alan for inviting us to his annual Jobs Fair again. We have a record number of vacancies, so coming to events like this Fair is a huge help in our efforts to recruit more local people.”
Charley Kenney from Right at Home said “We are delighted to be back at Alan’s Jobs Fair. Three years ago, we successfully recruited several new employees from Alan’s Fair. Success stories like these are what make events like Alan’s Fair so important for us as employers trying to fill vacant positions with high quality local candidates.”
Alan will be organising his Fair again in 2022. Any local employers who would like to exhibit can express an interest now by contacting him via his website.
