Local MP Alan Mak has donated £250 to local community organisation Emsworth in Bloom.
The community project, started by Sheila Morris, was founded because flower beds in Emsworth were being lost to weed growth. The group has now taken over all of the planters in Emsworth from the Council, and added 10 additional floral displays to the town.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I’m delighted to support Emsworth in Bloom who are a great local community group. Their work keeps Emsworth looking great, and I am proud to have supported them financially over several years.”
The planters are kept filled during the summer and winter months by members of the Green Finger Club, who are tasked with filling and maintaining the planters.
Sheila Morris said: “I want to thank Alan for his generous donation. Emsworth in Bloom relies entirely on donations and community support, and this money will help a great deal in continuing the work to keep our community blooming.”
