Local MP Alan Mak is organising and hosting the Havant Constituency Local COP26 Environment and Climate Conference with Government Ministers and local business leaders amongst the keynote speakers.
Timed to coincide with the United Nations’ COP26 climate summit in Glasgow, the Havant Constituency MP wants to make the issues relatable and relevant to local residents by focusing on the individual actions that can make a big difference locally. Mr Mak’s Conference will also highlight good practice and case studies from our local area.
Mr Mak’s Conference is being held virtually and includes panel discussions with senior figures from local government officials, business representatives, community groups, environmental experts, and young people. Mr Mak has also secured interviews with Environment Ministers Rebecca Pow and Zac Goldsmith, plus a message of support from President of COP26, Alok Sharma.
Topics covered during Mr Mak’s Conference include tackling and reducing discharges into local harbours, the work of local councils and community groups, nature and rewilding, the use of energy, infrastructure policy. The Conference also showcases work done by local schools.
