Local MP Alan Mak joins hundreds of residents and veterans to mark Remembrance Sunday in Havant.

The Havant MP paid his respects to Britain’s veterans, Armed Forces military families and those who have given their lives for our freedom and security by laying a wreath at the war memorial outside St Faith's Church following the annual Remembrance Parade. Further wreaths were laid on his behalf in Emsworth by Cllr Rivka Cresswell and on Hayling Island by Cllr Frank Pearce.

The service was conducted by the Rector of Havant Canon Tom Kennar in partnership with the Havant Branch of the Royal British Legion, with Mr Mak describing it as moving event. For Armistice Day on Friday the MP was at Crookhorn College where the whole school marked the two minute silence.

Mr Mak said: "Once again the whole community came together to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans, Armed Forces and those who have given their lives for our freedom and security. Havant's Remembrance Sunday service and parade was a moving, well-supported occasion with many community groups and uniformed services taking part. It was an honour to take part again this year, and I will continue supporting Havant's Royal British Legion branch who play a crucial role each year."
