Local MP Alan Mak welcomes pupils from Leigh Park’s Trosnant Junior School to Parliament

Local MP Alan Mak has welcomed pupils from Trosnant Junior School in Leigh Park to the House of Commons.

Two groups enjoyed a tour of Parliament and found out about the Estate's long history before Mr Mak took time out of his schedule to meet up with them.

He took part in question and answer sessions about the Palace of Westminster and his role as a Member of Parliament representing constituents.

Mr Mak visited Trosnant Junior School in 2022 to talk to the children about life as an MP and see the work they had been doing on the subject of democracy.

He said: “I regularly visit schools in the Havant Constituency and I was pleased to welcome Trosnant Junior School’s pupils to Westminster so they can see democracy in action.

"I encouraged them to play their part in the democratic process in future by voting, getting involved in campaigning and perhaps even standing as a prospective Parliamentary candidate one day".
