Local MP Alan Mak welcomes Mayor of Havant Borough Cllr Rosy Raines and consort Graham Raines MBE to Parliament

Local MP Alan Mak has welcomed Mayor of Havant Borough Cllr Rosy Raines and her consort Graham Raines MBE to Parliament.

He took them around the historic Palace of Westminster and also showed them parts of the wider Parliamentary estate, followed by a meeting to discuss local and national issues of relevance to the Havant Constituency. Mr Mak champions the Havant Constituency in Parliament and regularly supports funding bids from the Council and other local bodies, as well as campaigning on key issues such as more funding for local NHS, police and schools.

Mr Mak said: "It was great to be able to welcome the Mayor and her consort and enable them to see the inner workings of the Houses of Parliament. I think it is important for local councillors to know about what goes on in Parliament, given the work I do for our area in Westminster"

Cllr Raines said: "Thank you to Mr Mak for welcoming us to Parliament for a tour and a meeting to discuss local issues. We enjoyed our day in Westminster and look forward to working together in the interests of local residents."
