Local MP Alan Mak has visited Queenie's Vintage Tea Room in Emsworth ahead of Small Business Saturday and urged people to support independent traders.
He called in to see owner Queenie Butler-Hoskins to show his support and back the annual campaign that encourages people to use small businesses in their communities all year round.
Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on shopping habits.
Queenie has converted a former waiting room on Platform 2 at Emsworth Railway Station into a tea room offering a nostalgic trip back in time to the 1950s. It becomes a Speakeasy bar on Friday nights and even features a secret garden.
She serves freshly-roasted and ethically-sourced coffee and supports other small, local and independent businesses such as bakers.
Queenie said: "I've always been obsessed with vintage things and I really wanted to create a space where local people can come and enjoy really good coffee, cake or a tipple."
After working hard to build a career in sales and recruitment, she decided to leave the corporate world behind.
She explained: "I dreamt of a world where I could be 100% me, stop the professional front and live a vintage reality, bringing vintage joy to others."
In 2018 she bought a vintage caravan to convert into Queenie's Travelling Teapot and Tipple Spot. Then in 2022 she also took over the old station waiting room in Emsworth.
Mr Mak said: "I really enjoyed seeing Queenie again, having a cuppa and finding out about her love of all things vintage. Small independent businesses such as Queenie's Vintage Tea Room are the lifeblood of our shopping centres and local economy.
"I encourage residents across the Havant Constituency to support them by shopping local, not just on Small Business Saturday but all year round."
