Local MP Alan Mak met Vic Porrett and the team at Hayling Gym

Local MP Alan Mak has visited a new and growing gym in Mengham on Hayling Island to meet the owner and staff to show his support for the new local business.

Hayling Gym was founded by Islander Vic Porrett in 2021 and has been growing since despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. The gym already has exercise facilities including treadmills, bikes, free weights, a rowing machine and barbells as well as offering exercises classes. Vic wants to expand his facilities further and offer physiotherapy and sports massages. The gym provides discounts for blue light and uniformed services.

During the visit, Alan met the team at the gym and was given a tour of some of the new, modern equipment and facilities by Vic.

Local MP Alan Mak said “Congratulations to Vic and his team at Hayling Gym for their hard work getting the business up and running in Mengham. Supporting small and local businesses is one of my top priorities, and we are lucky to have so many independent businesses on Hayling Island and across the Havant Constituency. I was impressed by Vic’s commitment and the hardworking team he is building around him.”

Victor Porrett, founder and owner of Hayling Gym said “Thank you to Alan Mak for coming to support us. We’ve been trading for just under a year and business is good, although we welcome more clients. Our prices are affordable and discounts are available for blue light and uniformed services, so I would encourage Hayling Islanders to visit us and see what we offer.”
