Local MP Alan Mak has visited Park Community School in Leigh Park to meet students and take questions on his role as the Havant Constituency MP.
Mr Mak met with students in Year 8 in a classroom, where they got the opportunity to quiz the Havant Constituency MP on what an MPs job consists of, how Alan became an MP, as well as his thoughts on some of the big local and national issues.
Alan then held a roundtable discussion with some of the students who had been selected for their particular interest in Politics. There, the MP had a more detailed discussion with the students on the war in Ukraine, issues surrounding Southern Water, and his route into Politics.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “Supporting local schools and engaging with young people is one of my top priorities, and I enjoyed visiting Park Community School again. The pupils asked excellent questions and I’m sure some of them will go to become the MPs of the future”
Lucy Lawrence, a teacher at Park Community School, said: “Thank you to Alan Mak for coming to visit us. I know the students really enjoyed the opportunity to put questions to Alan, and some will have come away with a new-found interest in our Political system and the issues that face us all.”
