Local MP Alan Mak has visited the Leigh Park Working Men’s Club to present its management team with a Small Business and Community Award for the Best Pub in the Havant Constituency.
This year is the 6th that Alan has been running the Awards programme, which promotes local businesses by giving them recognition and credit for the work they do in their communities. Businesses are nominated by constituents on Alan Mak’s website.
Leigh Park and District Working Men's Club is a private members club with a friendly atmosphere, where residents can unwind and be part of a caring local community. The Club regularly runs social events and entertainment that can be enjoyed by local residents, as well as offering function room hire, activities and other clubs.
Local MP Alan Mak said “I’m delighted that the community has chosen Leigh Park Working Men’s Club as the Havant Constituency’s best pub! The club is a cornerstone of the community with all the services it offers to residents. This community recognition is what makes the Small Business Awards so special, and so such an accolade should come with a great deal of pride.”
Club Secretary Tricia Banachowicz said “Thank you to Alan Mak for coming to present us with this Small Business Award for Best Pub in Havant. We are delighted that the community has recognised us and are proud to receive this award. We look forward to continuing to serve local residents in the future, especially now as we move on through the age of lockdowns and restrictions.”
Nominations for the next round of Small Business and Community Awards are now open. Havant Constituency Residents wishing to make a nomination, and vote on nominees, can do so by visiting www.AlanMak.org.uk/SBA
