Local MP Alan Mak is opposing Labour plans to concrete over local fields and green spaces.
The Government is loosening planning policy and one consequence is councils will have to have a 'default yes' approach to housing developments within 10 minutes of transport hubs, including on green belt sites.
This follows the Labour Government imposing a 74 per cent increase in the annual housing target for the Havant Borough.
Mr Mak has strongly criticised these centrally-imposed, top-down mandatory housing targets.
He has warned that homes must be built in the right places and not create urban sprawl by failing to preserve important green spaces and gaps.
Mr Mak has also maintained that new homes should be planned in consultation with people in the area, and that adequate infrastructure is crucial where there's already pressure on critical services for existing residents.
He has opposed a development of up to 300 homes at Rook Farm on Hayling, but this has now been approved by the Planning Inspectorate, which reports to Housing Secretary Angela Rayner.
Mr Mak said: "New houses at Rook Farm were approved because Labour-led Havant Borough Council failed to deal with the planning application by the statutory deadline.
"I remain opposed to the Rook Farm development and I’ve written to Angela Rayner to ask her as the Minister responsible for planning what she can do to stop it."
Mr Mak is also opposing plans to build 1,800 houses at Southleigh between Emsworth and Denvilles, which have now been submitted to Havant Borough Council as the decision-maker.
He said housing on such a scale and in this location was not viable without a wide range of supporting infrastructure, including but not limited to a link road to the A27 because exisitings roads are already very busy.
He added: "Havant Borough Council is responsible for planning and councillors are drawing up the Local Plan for housing now.
"If you want to oppose other housing developments on Hayling or anywhere else in the Havant Constituency, please contact your local councillors and give them your views."
