Local MP Alan Mak has cut the ribbon to officially open a new Lidl store in Havant.
He was greeted by Lidl GB's regional head of property James Mitchell and went on a tour of the store in Purbrook Way, where he met members of staff.
Then Mr Mak performed the opening ceremony as eager customers queued to get their first look at the store.
Complimentary food samples were available, plus special prizes and exclusive offers.
Plans for the store were first revealed in 2024 and work started in May 2025 on land next to B&Q.
The Purbrook Way store is the company's second presence in the Havant area alongside its store in Somborne Drive, Leigh Park.
Mr Mak said: "I enjoyed opening the new store and meeting staff and congratulate Lidl for adding to the shopping mix locally.
"The store creates 40 new jobs and represents an investment of over £10million in our community."
