Local MP Alan Mak has joined volunteers in Havant and Hayling Island to raise funds for this year’s Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

He met up with Anne Newcombe and other members of the Legion’s Havant branch to sell poppies at the Meridian Centre in Havant.

Mr Mak also helped Angela Hopkins and RBL Hayling Island branch members at the Lidl store in Manor Road.

Mr Mak is Vice-President of Havant RBL and a longstanding Legion volunteer. Each year he devotes time to supporting the Poppy Appeal and selling poppies in the Constituency.

He said: “Every year I join local Royal British Legion volunteers to sell poppies to support our veterans. This year I was delighted to join volunteers in Havant and Hayling Island again. Local residents have always shown generosity to the Poppy Appeal and I want to thank everyone who has donated and is wearing a poppy.”
