Local MP Alan Mak hosts his 11th annual Havant Constituency Community & Volunteering Fair in Stakes

Local MP Alan Mak has hosted his 11th annual Havant Constituency Community & Volunteering Fair at Springwood Community Centre in Stakes.

Visitors were able to meet representatives from a range of local organisations, charities, clubs and other community groups.

Exhibitors ranged from Havant Camera Club and Emsworth Maritime & Historical Trust to Queen Alexandra Hospital League of Friends and Community First.

Also attending were 1st Purbrook Scout Group, Emsworth Horticultural Society, Dementia-Friendly Havant and the Alzheimer's Society.

Exhibitor Andy Carter MBE, who was representing the Royal British Legion Havant branch, said: "The Fair lets me promote the RBL and explain to people what it does. But my main aim of attending is to find volunteers to help with this year's Poppy Appeal. It really relies on people giving up their time, whether that's an hour or a whole day."

Duncan Cameron from home care provider Right At Home added: "I've supported Alan's Fairs for a number of years. It's good to be able to network with other exhibitors, but the Fairs also allow me to talk to people about care services and explain what help is available."

Mr Mak has organised the Community & Volunteering Fair every year since he was elected as MP for Havant in 2015.

He said: "Over the past 11 years it has been a pleasure to provide a platform in the community for a variety of exhibitors to showcase what they can offer.

"I'd like to thank all residents and exhibitors. I hope you found the information and advice available useful."

The Community & Volunteering Fair is part of Mr Mak's calendar of community events, which this year includes the 5th annual Health & Sports Fair at St Joseph's Church in Havant on Friday 26 June and the 11th annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair at Leigh Park Centre on Friday 23 October.

He added: "Please put these dates in your diaries. Admission is free and you can come anytime between 10am and noon. Feel free to bring family members, neighbours, colleagues and friends who are also constituents."
