Local MP Alan Mak hosted his first Havant Constituency Health and Wellbeing Fair at the Emsworth Baptist Church

Local MP Alan Mak has hosted his first annual Health and Wellbeing Fair at the Emsworth Baptist Church in the Havant Constituency.

The Fair follows the Havant MP’s highly successful Jobs, Apprenticeships and Careers Fair and Community Information Fair, which have been running for 6 years each respectively.

Over 35 local charities, healthcare organisations, businesses and community groups exhibited at the MP’s Fair which saw hundreds of local residents attend.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Mak had the idea to host the Fair in Emsworth in order to provide local residents from across the Havant Constituency with information and advice in regards to keeping healthy, both physically and mentally.

Local MP Alan Mak said: “Health and wellbeing have never been more important for our community, and I am delighted we had such a big turnout for my first Health and Wellbeing Fair. Thank you to the hundreds of residents and many exhibitors who came.”

Dan Simpson, an exhibitor at the Fair with Alzheimer’s Society, said “Thank you to Alan Mak MP for inviting us to the first Health and Wellbeing Fair. It’s been a great day and we were pleased to see so many local residents and other charities attending.”

June Cresswell, a member of the public attending, said “Alan’s first Health and Wellbeing Fair has been really positive for our community. There is so much information on offer and I’ve had the chance to talk to healthcare professionals. Thanks Alan for hosting the Fair, I hope it comes back next year!”

Dr Hannah Morgan, clinical director of the Emsworth and Hayling Primary Care Network said, “Our GP surgeries and pharmacies work hard to support local residents and we’re delighted to support Alan’s Health and Wellbeing Fair which is a really valuable local community event.”
