Local MP Alan Mak has hosted his eighth annual Havant Constituency Community Information Fair at the Hayling Island Community Centre.
The event was well attended by local residents and a wide range of organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors, as well as a number of local charities and community organisations.
Alan has organised the Community Information Fair every year since he was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Havant Constituency in 2015. It is a key part of his annual calendar of community events which includes the Health and Wellbeing Fair (hosted every year in Emsworth) and the Jobs, Apprenticeships and Community Fair (hosted every year in Leigh Park).
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I was delighted to welcome over 30 exhibitors and hundreds of residents to my Fair this year. Every year I host the Community Information Fair to give local residents more information about the many activities, charities and community organisations that are operating on Hayling and around the Havant Constituency. Thank you to all the exhibitors and attendees who help to make this event so successful every year”.
Jan Andrew from the Hayling Island Camera Club, who attended the Fair, said: “Thank you Alan for inviting us to the Fair again this year. It is a great opportunity to meet local people and show the work that we do as photographers and how they can get involved with us and the wider community”.
Cliff Robinson from the Hayling Island Light Railway, also attending, said: “We are delighted to be attending Alan’s Community Information Fair again this year. Every time we come, members of the public are interested in what we have to say. It is a valuable opportunity to showcase our work to the community and we are grateful to Alan for organising the event”.
Deirdre Lloyd, a Hayling Island resident said: “Thank you very much Alan for hosting this useful local event. We have learned so much about the charities, activities and organisations that are available on Hayling Island and appreciate all of the work Alan does locally”.
