Local MP Alan Mak is encouraging students in the Havant Constituency to enter the Falklands Forty competition, where the top prize is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Falkland Islands.

The competition, which is being run by the Falkland Islands’ Government, is asking 16 – 18 year olds across the country to answer the question: What do the Falkland Islands mean to you? The answer can be in the form of a film, podcast, essay or poster.

The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2022 and all eligible submissions will be judged by a panel, lead by famous explorer and adventurer Ben Fogle, who is an enthusiastic supported or the Falklands. Following the judges’ decision, 8 lucky youngsters will be awarded the trip of a lifetime on an RAF plane to the Falklands.

Local MP Alan Mak said: “Having visited the Falklands Islands myself, I know it’s a unique place and a key part of the British family of nations and territories. I hope that students across the Havant Constituency will enter the competition and I wish those that do the very best of luck.”

Full information regarding the competition can be found on the official website: www.falklands40comp.co.uk
