Local MP Alan Mak presented students from Glenwood School with the Member of Parliament's Merit Award

Local MP Alan Mak has visited Glenwood School in Emsworth to congratulate students who have been selected to become Student Ambassadors.

The 5 students, one for each year group, are selected to act as role models of good behaviour and attitude to learning. Each of the student ambassadors received a Member of Parliament’s Merit Award from Mr Mak.

Local MP Alan Mak said: “I was delighted to meet Glenwood’s new student ambassadors, and I presented them with a Member of Parliament’s Merit Award. The Awards are for demonstrating an exemplary attitude to learning in school. All the students have been chosen by their teachers for special recognition and they should all be very proud of their achievement”.

Glenwood School is a Special Educational Needs Secondary School in Emsworth with around 100 pupils. It offers a personalised curriculum for each student to assist them in meeting their moderate learning needs. These needs range from physical disabilities to sensory and/or language challenges and the Autism Spectrum.

Headteacher Josie Payne said: “We want to thank Alan Mak for his visit to Glenwood School to present our Student Ambassadors with their Member of Parliament's Award. These students exemplify our school ethos and vision, we are very proud of their achievements. We look forward to more students being awarded this very prestigious award.”
