Local MP Alan Mak has visited the Emsworth Flower Club at St James’ Church Hall to congratulate the organisation on reaching its 35th anniversary.
Mr Mak joined Claire Nutbrown the Club’s Secretary, along with Chair Chris Knights and Treasurer Sue Douthwaite, at the Club where he met other members and learned more about the history of the Club which formed in 1993.
Club members gathered to listen to Mr Mak deliver some words of congratulations praising the Club for its important role in promoting positive mental wellbeing, particularly for older members. The Club brings together residents from Emsworth with an interest in flower arranging.
The Emsworth Flower Club will be joining Mr Mak to exhibit at his Health and Wellbeing Fair on the 30th of April. The Fair is running for a second year after last year’s successful event, and attendance is free for any members of the public who wish to attend and receive health advice.
