Local MP Alan Mak was back at his desk straight away after the General Election working hard for local residents.
This has included catching up on the backlog of correspondence received during the campaign period and dealing with urgent queries.
Mr Mak has also re-started his regular programme of face-to-face advice surgeries in the community.
Many residents contact Mr Mak by e-mail and letter, however Mr Mak has always run a programme of in-person advice meetings in the community too.
Mr Mak said: "I'm active and visible all year round in the local community and helping local people is a top priority for me. Most residents who need help e-mail or write, but surgeries are still a good way of meeting people and making myself available to hear their concerns in person.”
"In many cases I can start work on issues straight away, meaning a resident doesn't have to wait until the next surgery date or take time out of their day to attend. As long as sufficient information is provided either in a letter or e-mail, I can progress matters efficiently."
He added: "I am here to serve all local residents, regardless of whether you voted for me or not. If you have a specific and personal issue that is within my remit as your MP, then please contact me and I will do my best to help."
