Local MP Alan Mak has welcomed the allocation of £3m for refurbishment at Crookhorn College.
The funding is earmarked for work on the school's Romsey Block, which will include:
- Re-covering the existing flat roof with a high performance felt including new insulation
- Replacement of windows and doors with new double-glazed aluminium windows and doors
- Wall insulation and new brick slip cladding
- Refurbishment of one Science Lab with new fixtures and furniture (other Science rooms have been recently refurbished)
- Refurbishment of toilets within the block
- Provision of new heat recovery and ventilation units
Work is planned to begin in spring 2027. Mr Mak has consistently supported local schools with funding bids from central government.
He said: "This funding is great news for students and staff at Crookhorn College, who will benefit from modernised buildings and a better learning environment."
