Local MP Alan Mak has urged residents to come out and show their support at the 40th anniversary Hayling Cycle Ride homecoming.
More than 60 cyclists taking part in the ride from Hayling to Paris and back are due to return to Hayling on Saturday 11 July.
They will be catching the ferry from Ouistreham to Portsmouth and then the Hayling Ferry from Eastney before arriving at a reception at the Royal British Legion in Legion Road at approximately 3pm.
Mr Mak got in the saddle and joined those taking part in this year's ride. He met up with the cyclists across the Channel and rode with them for part of the leg from Evreux to Paris - the hardest stretch of the entire ride.
This year's ride marks 40 years since the very first Paris to Hayling ride by Pete McQuade in 1986. He cycled alone from Paris to Hayling to raise money for cot death research after two close friends suffered the loss of their baby daughter.
The following year he persuaded another 17 cyclists to join him and the rest is history.
Since then those taking part have raised more than £1.7m for charity and riders of all ages and abilities have come from 15 countries to enjoy the camaraderie and take on the challenge.
This year the seven-day ride of nearly 400 miles began with a ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Ouistreham on 4 July.
The cyclists then made their way to Paris and will be heading back to Caen, where the ride will end with a fancy dress day and a celebration gala dinner on 10 July.
The next morning riders will cycle the short distance to Ouistreham to catch a ferry to Portsmouth before the triumphant return to Hayling.
Mr Mak said: "It would be great to see local residents out in force to welcome the riders home to Hayling. Please come out and show your support for these fantastic riders of all ages and abilities who have been taking part in this year's 40th anniversary Hayling Cycle Ride.
"I was privileged to experience cycling part of the ride and they'll all deserve so much credit for making it to the finish back on Hayling."
