Local MP Alan Mak has welcomed Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones to the Havant Constituency to visit key anti-social behaviour (ASB) hotspots.
Mr Mak has campaigned for more police resources to be directed towards tackling anti-social behaviour in our area.
Mr Mak has helped to secure extra funding in Westminster for Hampshire Police, and has made tackling anti-social behaviour in the Havant Constituency one of his top policing priorities following a meeting with new Havant Police District Commander Habs Rahman earlier this year.
Mr Mak was joined by Donna Jones, PCSO Josh Scrivens PC Cassandra Milne, DCI Roger Wood and Sergeant Darren Butterworth as they visited Havant Park, Emsworth Skate Park, and West Leigh.
Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones is the elected politician responsible for setting policing priorities and strategy across Hampshire, and managing Hampshire Police’s budget.
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I was pleased to secure a visit from Donna Jones to the Havant Constituency to discuss ways that the police can better tackle anti-social behaviour and discuss possible solutions. I am glad that Donna is using her policing budget in innovative ways to tackle this issue, and I will continue to support our local police in their work keeping our communities safe”.
Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones said: “Thank you to Alan Mak for inviting me to the Havant Constituency. The best way to tackle anti-social behaviour is to have more police officers on the streets, patrolling in hotspot areas. That is why my number one priority is recruiting 600 extra police officers by March 2023. More police will mean safer streets and as Commissioner that is my main focus. I know there are issues with motorcycle related incidents in the area too which is why I have funded three dirt bikes to provide the police with the equipment they need to improve response times and detect crime.”
