Local MP Alan Mak has praised the vital work of the Naval Families Federation following a visit to the charity.
The charity is dedicated to helping families navigate the intricacies of having a family member serving in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. It also promotes the voices of families, ensuring that their views and concerns are heard as well as supporting them with confidential support and advice.
The Federation is not affiliated with the Royal Navy or Royal Marines, but instead acts as an independent not-for-profit and offers resources and support for issues ranging from relationships and child support to housing and employment.
The Havant Constituency is home to many Royal Navy service personnel, some of whom are supported by the Federation and Mr Mak praised the vital work of the charity.
Mr Mak said: “Our area is home to the Royal Navy and we are proud of the work they do around at home and around the world to keep us safe and support humanitarian missions. But the nature of long deployments can be tough for the loved ones and families of those serving. That’s why the work of the Naval Families Federation is so vital.
“I was delighted to hear more about their work supporting service families in the Havant Constituency. They are always there for the families of Royal Navy servicemen and women to offer confidential help and advice when needed.”
