Local MP Alan Mak has encouraged residents to attend his fourth Havant Jobs, Apprenticeships and Careers Fair taking place next month.
The event, which has attracted thousands of residents over the past three years, will again be held at Havant Leisure Centre on Friday 15 March from 10am to 2pm.
This year over 60 organisations are expected to offer jobs and apprenticeships from a range of different sectors including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, armed forces and construction.
Exhibitors attending include Stagecoach, Airbus, Colt International, Superdrug, McDonald’s, Fasset, L&S Waste Management and Eaton Hydraulics.
Havant MP Alan Mak encouraged any residents looking for a job, thinking about changing career, starting an apprenticeship or seeking careers advice to come on the day.
He said: “Following the success of my first three Havant Constituency Jobs, Apprenticeships and Careers Fair and I am delighted it is once again returning to Havant Leisure Centre. We are fortunate in our area to have so many excellent local businesses that offer high quality jobs and apprenticeships, and many of them will be exhibiting on the day.
“So whether you are looking for work, thinking about an apprenticeship or just interested in hearing from some of our excellent employers I encourage you to come to the fair to find out more.
There will also be employability workshops, provided by the National Careers Service, taking place on the day. A CV building workshops will be taking place at 10.15am and 12.15pm, and job interview technique workshops at 11.15am and 1.15pm. No booking is needed.
Horizon Leisure Centres Chief Executive Howard Broad said: “We are delighted to once again support Alan’s Jobs, Apprenticeships and Careers Fair at Havant Leisure Centre. The previous events have been extremely well attended and we have managed to hire several staff ourselves as a result of having a stand.”
