Local MP Alan Mak joined volunteers at Havant parkrun for a special celebration of the vital role they play in the popular weekly event.
He and parkrun Global CEO Elizabeth Duggan met up with Run Director Mark Hancock at Staunton Country Park and both were part of a team of 32 volunteers helping on the day.
They were given the job of handing out finish tokens to more than 300 runners and walkers.
Before the start Mr Mak gave a short speech and thanked all the volunteers who give up their time each Saturday morning to enable the parkrun to take place.
There were several milestones on the day, including Michelle Heather reaching 250 parkruns and Sarah Brewer completing her 25th parkrun.
Dom Shepherd was first round the 5km course in 18 mins 10 secs, while first female home was Cynthia Mynhardt in 21 mins 59 secs.
But parkrun is about much more than fast times and behind them came people of all ages and abilities, including families and joggers accompanied by their dogs who were all enjoying the occasion.
After the last person crossed the finish line, a community picnic was held to recognise the contribution of more than 1,300 people who have volunteered at 673 Havant parkruns since they began back in 2012.
Parkrun was created in the UK in 2004 and free, volunteer-led community events now take place in open spaces around the world.
Mr Mak said: "I've always been a big supporter of parkrun and have taken part in the Havant parkrun in the past.
"It was great to be able to be part of this special celebration of the volunteers who make it all possible and thank them for what they do."
He added: "Thank you also to everyone who took part or who cheered on the runners, joggers and walkers.
"The parkrun is a fantastic community event that brings people together in the fresh air at the start of the weekend and I look forward to Havant parkrun continuing to go from strength to strength."
