Local MP Alan Mak has visited Claire's Floristry and Tea Room in Bedhampton ahead of Small Business Saturday and urged people to support independent traders.
He called in to see owner Claire Lester to show his support and back the annual campaign that encourages shoppers to use small businesses in their communities all year round.
Small Business Saturday takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on shopping habits.
Claire began her floristry business in 2015 and has become well-known for bright and beautiful bouquets. She takes pride in every floral piece, from small one-off bouquets through to designing for weddings, funerals and corporate events.
She's a preferred supplier to Portsmouth Football Club and works with customers across Hampshire.
In June she moved into new premises and now also runs a tea room offering a cuppa and cake or lunch from Tuesday to Saturday, all served using her nan's china.
She said: "It's always been a dream of mine to have a floristry business and tea shop together. It's hard work but I enjoy it.
"It's been an adventure getting the tea room set up, but we're getting busier by the day and everybody in the local community has been really supportive, from elderly people on their own to mums with babies. We're also dog-friendly."
Claire added: "It's become a community hub and I love that."
Mr Mak said: "I really enjoyed calling in to see Claire, having a cuppa and buying some flowers for my wife. Small independent businesses such as Claire's Floristry and Tea Room are the lifeblood of our local economy.
"I encourage residents across the Havant Constituency to support them by shopping local, not just on Small Business Saturday but all year round."
