Local MP Alan Mak has visited the studios of Havant Borough Talking News to record a summary of his work in Parliament for the local oral newspaper.
The Havant MP met with Peter Loveridge and Alan Hakim, who have worked together to produce the Talking News for over a decade. The Havant Borough Talking News is a quarterly oral publication which serves as a way for the blind and hard-of-sight to access local news and events.
Alan came into the studio to deliver an update on the Dunsbury Park Freeport, which recently received the final green light from the Government and will receive £25 million of seed funding.
The Havant Constituency also gave an update on his community events calendar, with his Community Information Fair, Health and Wellbeing Fair, and Jobs, Apprenticeships and Careers Fair all returning for 2023.
The Havant Borough Talking Newspaper was established in 1993 as a registered charity whose aim is to bring the local news to blind and visually impaired adults in the Borough of Havant. You can listen to the latest edition of the paper, as well as the past year’s fortnightly Talking News on the charity’s website, hbtn.org.uk
Local MP Alan Mak said: “I have supported the Havant Borough Talking Newspaper since I was first elected in 2015 and was delighted to visit the studio again to provide an update on my activities locally. Peter and Alan have worked hard on the Talking Newspaper for over a decade and our community is lucky to have them!”.
